Who Needs Winners?
We must always 'keep up with the Jones1
It's our Western tradition, they say:
Keeping lawns so trim and cars so clean
But isn't there a better way?
Slow down you Joneses you're a pain!
It seems that you're at it again
To get on ahead, when you should be instead
Perhaps just a little more sane?
For once do not mow but let your lawn grow
To give us some peace at weekends.
Just try to relax and be a bit lax
Then all of our lives you would mend.
Together we'd breathe a big sigh of relief
Not having to compete and conform;
To stop the rat-race for the environment's sake
And be happy instead of forlorn.
Do winners we need anyway?
You Joneses must stop having sway
Over minds overloaded from tensions exploded:
So we all can just have a nice day!
